What you want to keep with you

Check the permitted bag size and any requirements concerning belongings or clothing. Do not rely on a cloakroom before confirming it is available. If you need to wear or hold a jacket during the concert, choose its size and weight accordingly. A very bulky layer can restrict movement more than expected.

Your phone, ticket and keys need an accessible place that closes reliably. Test the filled bag with your arms raised. A strap that slips over your head or repeatedly leaves your shoulder will not become more comfortable in the crowd. Long jewellery can catch on hair, straps or other layers; choose deliberately which pieces you want to wear that evening.

Choose shoes you know over a similar duration. A higher sole does not guarantee a better view and should not come at the expense of a stable footing. Long trouser hems must stay clear. A short walk at home shows whether you step on fabric while moving forward or backward.

The time before and after the music

Waiting outside before entry may involve different conditions from those indoors. A removable layer helps only if you know where it will go. Check whether it fits in the permitted bag or can be left at an available cloakroom. A garment tied loosely around you should not come undone while walking.

If you will wait for transport after the concert, include that stage too. The outfit need not balance every temperature perfectly, but a deliberately planned outer layer is more dependable than hoping for a quick departure. Arrange the journey home and the things you need so the clothing supports the evening instead of requiring reorganisation at every break.
